I finally got around to making an honest-to-goodness website, and it even has a blog where I can indulge in talking about things wot I do, with that level of linguistic sophistication.
Here I’ll post my thoughts on a variety of topics that I really care about, some physics-related, some not.
Here are the things I’m interested in talking about: music, the lyrical composition of pop and rock, and why it’s important; running, swimming, cycling and rowing, aka the art of finding ways to do painful things for a prolonged period of time and enjoying it; stand-up comedy - the theory and practice (I have done some stand-up comedy!); films (generally explaining in excruciating detail how a particular film is a worthwhile piece of art); books (generally explaining in excruciating detail how a particular book is a worthwhile piece of art); and, back to physics, all the myriad, needless, pointless barriers that exist in academia that make it so (in particular but not limited to) students from minoritiozed and economically disadvantaged goups, are continually fighting so many battles that aren’t physics related just to get through. These latter will be my angry posts, and I will label them (perhaps) with a very grouchy cat.
